Under the Vice-rector for Partnerships and International Relations, the International Relations Office is responsible for developing and coordinating the international relations and activities of the University of Luxembourg. This involves providing support and feedback to the University management on international issues and concluding international agreements. Key tasks of the Office include, but are not limited to, preparing and assessing agreements with international partner universities, administering and promoting Erasmus+ mobility projects, leading digitalization projects relative to Erasmus+ mobility, administering and promoting staff mobility, coordinating international visits to and from the University, promoting international opportunities for students and staff members, coordinating the EURAXESS Luxembourg network and hosting the initiatives of the University of the Greater Region.

Your Role...

As International Relations Officer for international partnerships you will elaborate and prepare international agreements, as well as conventions with an international focus between the University of Luxembourg and national institutions. You will also participate in university-wide initiatives to raise the attractiveness of the university internationally. You will report directly to the Team leader for International Relations. Activities

  • Draft, negotiate internally/externally and lead administrative preparation of international agreements; e.g., student exchanges, dual degrees
  • Draft, negotiate internally (and externally in collaboration with Team leader) and lead administrative preparation of collaboration agreements with national institutions focusing on international higher education projects
  • Identify, investigate and execute cooperation possibilities with foreign partners with regard to the internationalisation of the teaching and/or research of the university
  • Manage one or more current programmes and the associated budgets and if needed make proposals for improvement and implement them after approval
  • Oversee and support Erasmus+ Erasmus+ Key Action applications
  • Participate in university-wide initiatives to raise the attractiveness of the university mobility and scholarships programs
  • Collaborate within the IRO team for the smooth operation of daily activities
  • Participate in regular IRO team exchanges with the three faculties and relevant central services to ensure a dynamic student mobility
  • Draft briefings in preparation of international visits and international missions from and to the University of Luxembourg
What we expect from you…
  • Master’s degree in a field relevant to the position
  • Several years of professional experience in international collaboration
  • Knowledge of the Luxembourg higher education and research sector is considered an asset
  • Experience in internationalisation of Higher Education frameworks such as student mobility, student exchanges, joint academic initiatives is considered an asset
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) and a good understanding of French. Knowledge of German and/or Luxembourgish are considered an asset
  • Team-oriented, diplomatic and able to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Builds strong relationships and navigates effectively with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Takes initiative in problem-solving discussions, offering solutions and working effectively within team to achieve common goals
  • Articulate and Influential: Convey your skill in expressing ideas persuasively and making a positive impact
