Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Private Banking team in the Luxembourg Branch.

Handelsbanken Luxembourg Branch started its activities in 1978 and is part of Handelsbanken Global Banking (HOG). We support the Bank’s customers in the focus markets with their international business. The Branch core business is Private banking (discretionary management and investment services) and mortgage lending in Spain, Portugal and France.

We are looking for a Head Private Banking who will report in to the General Manager of the Luxembourg Branch. The main responsibilities will be the following:

• Client responsibility and back up for client managers
• Develop and lead the Private Banking team
• Represent the Luxembourg Branch and the Private Banking offering within the focus market branches network and externally to the Bank
• Develop and implement a plan to promote the unique Private Banking opportunities in conjunction with the countries where Handelsbanken operates (namely Sweden and Norway)
• Be responsible towards the local supervisory authorities for the implementation and respect, within the Luxembourg branch, of the MiFID rules
• Ensure the department has strong controls and processes to ensure compliance with all regulations in this area (AML, MifiD, SFDR, etc.)
• Work with the European Mortgage Team to develop client opportunities
• Be an active member of the local management team

Requirements

This position requires a broad knowledge of private banking activities and associated regulations , as well as strong leadership skills. The successful candidate must be fluent in English and a Nordic language. The role will require regular contact and interaction with the Group Private Banking team as well as the ability to interact and develop client relationships.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

A proven track record in a similar role

• Swedsec or equivalent certificate
• Cross border expertise
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish
• Leadership skills and experience
• Knowledge of banking / financial services products and services
• Strong knowledge of MiFID and SFDR rules
