Server Support Agent

General Purpose Halian is seeking a highly motivated Server Support Agent to join our client. You will play a pivotal role in managing the IT infrastructure, the server environment and storage systems. This position requires a strong understanding of Windows & Linux environments, virtualization, storage management (provisioning), IT security rules & tools. You have a deep know how in data-center management, including servers, storage and switches.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Manage the hardware servers, storage systems (DELL/EMC) and Hypervisors (Proxmox/HyperV,VMWare), including OS installation and applying updates, patches
• Provision virtual machines with Linux (Debian) and Windows Server OS, including the storage provisioning
• Install and maintain several application frameworks and applications
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues in the IT infrastructure and recommend/implement appropriate solutions
• Analyze business processes and offer IT solutions that are matching into the infrastructure
• Manage Active Directory objects and implement Group Policies for server and application steering
• Manage SQL servers and databases (MS-SQL, Postgres, MySQL)
• Assist the desktop support as 3rd level engineer for all hardware and software issues
• Collaborate with the Service Desk to resolve user inquiries
• Support the network team with basic network and firewall management tasks
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology (IT) or a minimum of 5 years of demonstrably relevant experience
• Proven experience in supporting server, storage system environments and Hypervisors
• Experience with Bash Scripting, Active Directory, Patch Management (Windows & Linux) and IT Security Tools is highly desirable
• Understanding of network and firewall concepts is mandatory
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English being mandatory. Fluency in German, French or Italian is a strong asset
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and seek solutions through teamwork
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a meticulous approach to detail while maintaining efficient execution
• A continuous learner with a proactive attitude towards staying updated with evolving technologies
